ضمن برنامج المحاضرات الخاص لزمن الصوم، قدّم سيادة المطران مار اميل نونا محاضرته الأولى مساء الأحد الماضي 3/3/2019 بعنوان: المرض، في قاعة كاتدرائية مار توما الرسول وذلك بحضور الآباء الكهنة الأفاضل والأخوات الراهبات، وجمع كبير من الشبيبة وأبناء الرعية اللذين استمتعوا بمتابعة شرح سيادة المطران عن المرض بحسب الكتاب المقدس، وكيف يربطه العهد القديم بالخطيئة التي هي بحسب الكثير من النصوص الكتابية، السبب لكل ضعف ومرض للجنس البشري الذي اختار بحريته ان يتمرد على مشيئة الرب في الفردوس، فتصبح الأرض بسببه ملعونة، يحيا فيها بتعب وضعف. مضيفاً سيادته أن المرض ليس من الله، ولا هو يسمح به، بل هو نتيجة اختيار الانسان للخطيئة، لهذا نجد موقف يسوع مع المرضى وهو يسألهم “الإيمان” الذي هو الطريق نحو الشفاء، شفاء النفس والروح الذي يعكس الراحة والسلام في الجسد كذلك، مؤكداً سيادته أن المؤمن هو أنسان قوي في وجه المرض، ممتلئ بالفرح والرجاء برغم الامه، وذلك الايمان يشفي روحه ونفسه فيحيا بسلام.
جدير بالذكر ان محاضرات سيادة المطران مستمرة مساء كل أحد خلال فترة الصوم.

Within Lent lecture program, His Grace Archbishop Mar Amel Nona presented his first lecture on Sunday, 3/3/2019, titled: Sickness, at the Hall St. Thomas the Apostle Cathedral with the presence of our reverend fathers, nuns, and great attending of youth and parishioners whom enjoyed listening to His Grace talk about sickness according to the Bible, and how the Old Testament relates to sin as a reason behind sickness based on many biblical texts, and how it is also a reason of every weakness and illness of mankind who chose by his freedom to rebel against the will of God in Paradise. That is why Jesus require “faith” when dealing with the sick, as faith is the way to healing, the healing of the soul and the spirit which reflects comfort and peace in the body as well, emphasising on who the believer is always strong over sickness, full of joy and hope despite his pain and suffering, and that faith heals his soul and spirit as well as his body.
