Our faith does not focus on death, but it is base and strongly centred on life!..We believe that God, with his love and mercy, gives life to man from the first moment of his existence in the mother womb. Whoever lives satisfactorily before God is never overtaken by death. But will be blessed with an eternal life with God! The body alone will be departed, but the soul will live with God constantly! ..
With these words, the Archbishop Mar Amel Nona gave his homily to the faithful at the Holy Mass on the occasion of the commemoration of the faithful departed which was organized by St. Thomas the Apostle Chaldean Dioceses in Sydney on Friday night 1/3/2019 which took place at the new cemetery in Camps Creek, with the presence of our reverend fathers, and the participation of our deacons, and many of our parishioners in Sydney.
The Holy Mass was followed by the funeral liturgy, then the graves were blessed with holy water and incense by Archbishop Nona
The program concluded by praying before the statue of St. Thomas the Apostle and sharing a light dinner offered by the cemetery administration.
May the mercy of the Lord embrace all those who are resting on hope of the resurrection. Patience and condolences to their families.
Give them eternal rest, O LORD. And your permanent light shone on them
ايماننا لا يُركز على الموت بقدر ما يرتكز ويتمحور، وبقوة حول الحياة!…نحنُ نؤمن أنَّ الله يعطي، بحبهِ ورحمته، الحياة للإنسان منذُ لحظة تكوينه كجنين في رحِم الأم، والإنسان الذي يعيش مرضيّاً أمام الله هو انسانٌ لا يغلبه الموت ابداً، بل له حياةً ابديه مع الله!…الجسد وحده يفنى، انما الروح تحيا مع الله!..
بهذه الكلمات وجّه سيادة المطران مار اميل نونا موعظتهُ الى المؤمنين في القداس الإلهي بمناسبة تذكار الموتى المؤمنين الذي أقامته ابرشية مار توما الرسول الكلدانية في سدني مساء الامس، الجمعة ١/٣/٢٠١٩، في المقابر الجديدة التابعة لأبرشيتنا في كمبس كريك بمشاركة الآباء الأفاضل والشمامسة الموقرون، وحضور الكثير من ابناء رعيتنا في سدني. تبع القداس الإلهي مراسيم صلاة الجناز، من ثم تبريك المقبرات بالماء المقدس والبخور على يد سيادة المطران مار اميل نونا، والختام بالصلاة امام تمثال مار توما الرسول، ومقاسمة وجبة عشاء خفيفة قدمتها ادارة المقبرة.
رحمة الرب تغمر كل الراقدين على رجاء القيامة. والصبر والتعزية لذويهم.
الراحة الابدية اعطهم يا رب. ونورك الدائم اشرق عليهم
