Chaldean Catholic Diocese – Sydney
On Tuesday 7/3/2019 the AMEC (Australian Middle East Christian Apostolic Churches conference) has organized a priests meeting with the Eastern churches representatives hosted by St. Antoine Church of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Sydney.
The meeting undertook two directions: the spiritual, and pastoral. For the spiritual, His Grace Archbishop Basilios Kodseie of the Roman Antioch Orthodox Church, presented a reflection on the relationship between the civil authority and the Church according to the Bible and the writings of the Fathers of the Church. In addition to the pastoral aspect, Bishop Anthony Tarabay of the Maronite Church in Australia, reviewed the latest developments on the subject of religious freedom in Australia and the attempts to abolish some privileges in the civil laws and their impact on the religious institutions, especially schools and churches, as well as on families in general. The debate was over the beast ways to deal with these dangerous developments.
There will be other meetings of the Council on the location.
نظّم مجلس اساقفة ورؤساء الكنائس الشرقية في استراليا (AMEC) لقاء موسعّا مع الكهنة الممثلين للكنائس المنضوية في المجلس، وذلك بمناسبة قدوم الصوم الكبير، وذلك يوم الثلاثاء المصادف 7/3/2019 بضيافة كنيسة القديس أنطوان للاقباط الارثذوكس في سدني.
اللقاء تضمن جزئين رئيسين؛ الروحي، والراعوي. في الجانب الروحي عرض سيادة المطران باسيليوس قدسيه مطران كنيسة الروم الارثذوكس الانطاكية تأملا حول العلاقة بين السلطة المدنية والكنيسة بحسب الكتاب المقدس وكتابات اباء الكنيسة، ودارت مناقشات مهمة حول الموضوع. وبالجانب الراعوي، استعرض المطران انطوان ترابيه مطران الكنيسة المارونية في استراليا، آخر التطورات حول موضوع الحرية الدينية في استراليا، ومحاولات الغاء بعض الامتيازات في القوانين المدنية وتأثيرها على المؤسسات الدينية، وبالاخص المدارس والكنائس، وكذلك على العوائل بشكل عام. وقد دار النقاش حول السبل الافضل لمواجهة هذه التطورات الخطيرة. وسيكون هناك لقاءات اخرى للمجلس حول الموضع.
